A Salute To Pinoy Spirit

A few weeks ago, we encountered one of the most devastating typhoon in our lifetime here in Metro Manila. September 26 of this year, Ondoy hit the region with huge amount of rainfall within 6-9 hours.According to PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration) the amount of rainfall carried by Typhoon Ondoy within that particular timeframe is equivalent to the amount of rainfall in a month. They also concluded that this is the effect of "Climate Change" that we are experiencing right now.But this "climate change phenomenon" is surely caused by human negligence - our fault.

It is important for us to realize, as Filipinos, that we should never let our fellow "kababayans" suffer. We should help and embrace one other not only to show sympathy, but also to let the victims feel that they are not alone, a good example if this are the Pinoys abroad who reached out to us through donations.

We can see many students and even those who are also affected by floods who volunteered and offered their services to reach out for the needy. Local TV Networks or Media Stations sincerely served the people called out for donations and lead the relief services. It make us proud to be Filipinos.

That's the best thing we've seen because of this unfortunate tragedy. We hope that not only in this kind of situation that we're going to see the Real Pinoy Spirit again. It must be forever and always in our hearts, mind and in our action. We should also learn from our mistakes, let's to lessen or avoid this kind of calamity.

Let's start the change in ourselves NOW.
